Outreach - Crediton Arts Centre in the Community
As well as the many performances, classes and events which happen in our East Street building, Crediton Arts Centre is involved in the community in many ways. Here are a few of the things we have done in 2020/21, despite the pandemic:
* Share in the Square - Music, poetry, theatre, puppet shows, comedy and Piano in the Square throughout the two summers
* Busk It! - two mornings of music perfomances in shops and cafes in the High Street and Town Square
* A resumption of live events and classes in the building after the pandemic and many lockdowns
* Full Autumn programme including theatre, music, storytelling, fils and quizes
* Tour of 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' to green spaces in Crediton, Cheriton Fitzpaine, Newton St Cyres, Sandford and Colebrooke during June and July 2021
* Continued practical support for Crediton Diversity Festival
* Technical support for Sustainable Crediton's Green Fair
* Co-production with Living Room Theatre of 'All Is Mended', touring throughout Devon during Autumn 2021
* Centrally involved in Christmas in Crediton, organising the Town Square events and providing technical and infrastructure support - this year featuring the amazing Beatnxs
* Decorated Christmas tree in the annual Crediton Parish Church Christmas Tree Festival
* Administration of the Pete Mason Music Fund to help musicians at a key stage of their musical journey
* New 'Open Door' events such as storytelling workshops
* The innovation of 'Live Lounge', a relaxed music and social space with the Arts Centre's legendary bar
* Support for events run by Crediton Community Bookshop
* Storytelling and education sessions at Hayward's School
